§ 8.5. Election Commission.

  • (a)

    There shall be an election commission, consisting of the City Clerk, who shall be Chairman, City Attorney, City Assessor and two electors of the city, said electors to be appointed by the Council for terms of four years, and who shall not reside in the same ward. The first Election Commission shall be appointed within thirty (30) days after the effective date of this Charter.

    (b)

    Duties of Election Commission.

    (1)

    It shall establish the ward boundaries as set forth in Section (8.6).

    (2)

    It shall appoint the Board of Election inspectors for each precinct for each election and have charge of all activities and duties required of it by law relating to the conduct of all elections in the city.

    (3)

    It shall from time to time, as required by law, establish convenient election precincts, and shall establish polling places in each precinct.
