§ 11.1. Power to Tax: Tax Limit.

  • The City shall have the power to assess taxes and lay and collect rents, tolls, and excises. Exclusive of any levies authorized by statute to be made beyond charter tax rate limitations, the annual ad valorem tax levy shall not exceed one and one-half percent of the assessed value of all real and personal property, except as provided for in Section 6, Article 20 for the transitional periods.
