§ 6-30. Report; permit

  • All applications shall be filed with city clerk or his or her designee, together with a fee established by the city for review of the application, who shall make a report and recommendation to the city council or city manager. If the city council determines that it will not be detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare, the city council may grant the permit to keep livestock within the city. If the city manager determines that keeping of rabbits or chickens meets the conditions of section 6-28(b) and will not be detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare, the city manager or his or designee may grant the permit to keep rabbits and/or chickens. Any permit granted pursuant to this section shall specify the type, number and place where such livestock may be kept. No person shall keep any livestock in the city contrary to the terms and conditions of any permit. The city council or city manager may revoke any permit for violations of this section, any terms and conditions of any permit or where there is a danger to the public health, safety and welfare.
