§ 16-52. Purpose.

  • The purpose of this article is to promote the public health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the city and preserve the natural resources, and to prevent the creation of nuisances and hazards to the public welfare, health, safety, morals and well-being and general welfare, to control soil erosion and protect the waters within the city by enforcing the provisions of part 91 of Public Act No. 451 of 1994 (MCL 324.9101 et seq.), and promulgated administrative rules, commonly known as the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, along with any rules promulgated by the department of environmental quality.
